Happy New Year for 2019 and hello again to all our members, with apologies for being silent for such a long time! Many reasons for that but none that we need to bore you with.
Since our last update a lot has happened, unchronicled but none the less valuable to us as a Society; including the AGM in November last year, which was very well attended, so thank you all for taking the time and trouble to attend.
Afterwards we celebrated with a lovely buffet, plus music and dancing to our now resident DK Johnny Gee.
Hie Excellency Mr Patrick Duffy, Irish Ambassador to Malta also attended, and made the rounds of all the tables meeting our members, most of whom were surprised but also very happy to see him.
Our Christmas Carol Service at St Patrick’s in Sliema during the early days of Dec was also really well attended, and Fr Jo as usual did us proud, allowing us not only the use of the chapel but also the refectory hall, where we held the by now traditional XMas party, with seasonal fare. The proceeds of this event were donated to St Patrick’s School for Boys, and our donation was very warmly received, so thank you all for your generosity on the night .
Next up will be St Valentine’s Night, on 14th Feb at the Strand Palace Hotel, more details by e mail, and we will publish the flyer on this website and also FB. Look forward to another splendidn evening and keep the date free!
